The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has urged Nigerians to uphold tolerance and peaceful coexistence as Christians nationwide celebrate Easter.
In a message commemorating the holiday on Friday, the society said the season presents an opportunity for citizens to reflect on common values and reinforce national unity amid ongoing challenges.
The National President, Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, encouraged Nigerians to use the occasion to foster understanding and compassion across religious and cultural lines. The statement, issued by the society’s National Publicity Secretary, Sola Hassan, described Easter as a period symbolizing sacrifice, renewal, and hope, and a chance to contemplate the values that unite the nation.
Kazeem emphasized that in times of social and economic challenges, virtues such as patience, compassion, and selflessness are essential for national development and collective well-being.
He expressed the hope that the Easter period would inspire citizens to deepen their sense of responsibility toward one another and strengthen their commitment to serving the country with integrity and dedication.
“We pray that this season brings peace, harmony, and fulfillment to all Nigerians,” Kazeem added.
He concluded by calling on all citizens, regardless of faith or background, to embrace tolerance, empathy, and understanding as pillars for building a harmonious, resilient, and prosperous society.
